Sticky Notes of Thoughts

…because some thoughts are worth remembering

On Crisis Management

After every major accident for which investigative committees are formed, I recall the following quote:

“For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled.” ~Richard Feynman

These words were Feynman’s conclusion after investigating the accident of the space shuttle Challenger.

If the reality is bad, the least you can do for public relations is to get to the truth quickly and clearly communicate it before our imagination takes over, going back to Bill Gates’ rule of bad news.
