On Being Interesting

I read some psychology study that concluded that people found you more interesting if you showed interest in them (even if by doing so, you do not have time to tell them any interesting information about yourself).

I haven’t done any literature searches, but I know from my own experience, that if you want to be respected, the best thing you can do is to respect others. If you want to be admired, admire others.

Perhaps it is an extrapolation of the Golden Rule at work: One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.
