On Organizational Culture & Conway’s Law


If language is culture, it is crucial that organizations make a deliberate effort to create and maintain the kind of communication structure that reflect their values. The importance should not be overlooked, because communication structure will affect the way organizations design a system.

Conway’s Law:

Any organization which designs a system…will inevitably produce a design whose structure is a copy of the organization’s communication structure.
